The Rome Radio Club is pleased to announce several improvements to our Amateur Radio License Examination program.
Beginning immediately, we are transitioning to ExamTools for exam registration and session management. This modern platform streamlines the registration process for candidates and helps our Volunteer Examiner (VE) Team manage exam sessions more efficiently.
What’s New?
- Online registration through ExamTools
- Updated VE Sessions webpage
- Improved information for new license applicants
- Automatic listing of upcoming exam sessions
- Simplified instructions for obtaining an FCC Registration Number (FRN)
Why the Change?
ExamTools is widely used by amateur radio Volunteer Examiner teams across the country and provides a more efficient experience for both candidates and examiners. The system helps reduce paperwork, improve accuracy, and streamline the examination process.
New to Amateur Radio?
Getting started is easy:
- Obtain an FCC Registration Number (FRN)
- Study for your Technician Class license exam
- Register for an upcoming exam session
Our updated VE Sessions page now provides step-by-step guidance for new applicants, including links to FCC registration resources and study materials.
Upcoming Exam Sessions
Future exam sessions will continue to be listed on our website calendar. Candidates are encouraged to pre-register through ExamTools whenever possible, although walk-ins may be accommodated when seating and examiner availability permit.
