Join the Rome Radio Club for Field Day

The Rome Radio Club invites everyone to stop by and experience ARRL Field Day 2026, the largest annual amateur radio operating event in North America!

Club members will be on the air for 24 hours using the club callsign W2OFQ, operating as 4A WNY, making contacts with amateur radio stations across the United States and Canada.

Whether you’re a licensed amateur radio operator, interested in becoming one, or simply curious about how amateur radio works, we’d love to have you visit. Guests are welcome to watch our stations in operation, ask questions, and—under the supervision of a licensed control operator—even get on the air and make a contact!

What is Field Day?

Field Day is part emergency communications exercise, part operating event, and part public demonstration.

Each year, thousands of amateur radio operators across North America set up temporary stations using portable antennas and emergency power to practice providing communications under field conditions. During the event, operators make as many contacts as possible while demonstrating the capabilities of amateur radio.

It’s an opportunity to learn about:

  • Amateur Radio (Ham Radio)
  • Emergency Communications
  • Portable Radio Operations
  • HF, VHF, and Digital Communications
  • Amateur Radio Licensing

Everyone is Welcome!

Whether you’ve been licensed for decades or have never touched a radio before, we’d love to meet you.

Stop by, ask questions, tour the stations, and experience amateur radio in action!

We look forward to seeing you at Field Day 2026!
